Five things to do in Liguria
3/. Visit San Remo - so glamourous - some people think its had it's hey-day but San Remo is the perfect City by the Sea. Great streets; fantastic shopping on the famous Corso Matteoti; great seafood restaurants; lots of markets; the harbour; casino and so much more!
We absolutely love Liguria here at Holiday Homes in Italy; the sun, the sea, the coastlines, the glamour, it's endless! We think that Liguria is the perfect location for a holiday in Italy. We could easily find 100 things to do here but here are our 5 must do's;
1/. Visit the Cinque Terre - The Cinque Terre is only of Italy's best treasures; surrounded by mountains, these beautiful 5 coastal villages are picture postcard perfect and a trip to Liguria would not be the same without a visit.
2/. Eat Pesto from Liguria - it may be available all over the world but nothing beats fresh pesto from Liguria. This amazing sauce comes from Genova but find a quaint trattoria anywhere in the region and try the real thing!
4/. Spend the day on the beach - it may sound crazy but this region has some absolutely fantastic beach resorts - its old fashioned Italy by the sea but real character, beautiful mountain backdrops, classy boulevards, perfect 'passegiata' opportunities, endless sandy beaches and so family friendly!
5/. Head off the beaten track - just minutes away from the main coastal road and you will find yourself up in the hills on breathtaking winding roads surrounded by lemon trees, olive groves and breathtaking mountain villages. Go walking on one of the many mountain trails, go fishing in the valley rivers or simply discover one of the many medieval villages like Dolceacqua, Apricale and many more, which are steeped in history.
