The Dolomiti Superski area includes the well-known Sella Ronda circuit with the most runs in Europe. This area offers over 1,200km of pistes and includes the ski resorts of Canazei, Campitello, Selva Val Gardena, Predazzo, Cavalese and Kronplatz. Other resorts in the popular Dolomite area include Madonna di Campiglio, Andalo, Marilleva and Cortina d'Ampezzo, one of the most well-known ski resorts in Italy.
The Milky Way ski area is made up of five villages with over 400 kms of pistes which offers excellent skiing for all abilities in breathtaking scenery. Resorts in this area include Sestriere, host of the 2006 Olympic downhill event and lively Sauze d’Oulx, where the Olympic freestyle skiing takes place.
Other good destinations include the lesser known Gressoney and Champoluc in the beautiful Monterosa ski area with access to over 50km of pistes.
