With the resorts opening this weekend (5 December), the Vialattea
ski area is really gearing up for the season ahead. At last the temperature has dropped several
degrees below zero. These conditions
have given the “Sestriere Spa” the possibility to set in motion the snow
machines in the main areas of Sestriere, Cesana-Sansicario, Sauze d’Oulx and
Claviere. Also in France, its “cousin”
in Montgenevre is whitening the slopes. The whole area is at work to create the
perfect ground to welcome ski lovers.
The first snowfalls over the past week have added to the
artificial snow, and all this contributes to the amazing landscape around the
ski slopes. The sharp drop in temperatures has been enthusiastically welcomed
by local tourism operators. Now we can celebrate
with confidence the opening of the season, with the expectation of further snow
on the way.
For those looking to get away for a pre-Christmas break, you
will not only find uncrowded pistes but cheaper ski passes and low apartment
rental prices. You can also benefit from reasonable flights. Snow may limit the number of open pistes in the first
week of December but by the middle of the month, the resort is normally in full
swing.
The Vialattea awaits you!
